Major Equipment Rental, Inc. was founded in August 1984, by R.E. "Bob" Miller who presently serves as President. Initially the focus of "MAJOR" was to provide pumps, air compressors, blenders, tanks, hoses, etc. to the oilfield, construction, and service industries. As a rental company our philosophy was to provide our customers with the best equipment available at an equitable price. Over the years our inventory grew and became more diverse. We gradually improved the quality and training of our employees and began to provide operators and service personnel for our expanded services.

Major Environmental Remediation, Inc. was founded in September 1993, by R.E. "Bob" Miller who served as President, and Byrnes Boudreaux who served as Vice President. This division was formed as a State licensed facility to handle Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (N.O.R.M.) contaminated tubulars, equipment, and land. Additionally, the facility also handles Non-Hazardous Oilfield Waste (N.O.W.). In February 1995, Major Equipment and Major Environmental, its sister company, merged to form M.E.R. Services, Inc., still going by the name "MAJOR".

In October 1997, M.E.R. Services, Inc. changed its name to Major Equipment & Remediation Services, Inc. Despite the change in name, "MAJOR's" philosophy has remained the same. "We strive to provide the best possible equipment and services at a price that is equitable." From our experience we think that such a philosophy will provide us with a margin of profit that allows us to continually improve the quality of our equipment, knowledge, expertise, and training of our personnel while expanding our services. Our motto, "We Specialize in Service", denotes the attitude we try to instill in every employee while still providing a goal for which we strive.
